Post by Scorpius Malfoy on Nov 11, 2008 12:03:22 GMT -5
Scorpius walked over to the Slytherin table, taking his accustomed spot and reaching for the bacon and some toast. His dormitory mates would know that he didn't sleep in his own bed last night, and he was pretty sure that after the display of affection that he and Rose had put on in Honeydukes yesterday, a lot of people would be speculating about where he'd been and who he'd been with. He smiled slightly derisively to himself. If they tried to give him a hard time about it, they'd regret it. That was one of the advantages in being a prefect. He glanced over at the Gryffindor table on the other side of the hall, trying to catch a glimpse of Rose. He hoped she wasn't having too much trouble with her family. The whole lot of them would be there at the Gryffindor table, ready to pounce... except, of course, for Al. He glanced at the other boy, already eating breakfast a little way down the table from him and wondered, not for the first time, how the son of the famous Harry Potter had ended up in Slytherin.

Emmily smiled after the trip to Hogsmede yesterday she'd gone straight to sleep. Not even bothering to see whether Cori had gotten back, or unpacking her stuff. Walking to the Slytherin table she smiled seeing Scorpius already there. "Morning Scorp," she said grinning at her friend "How are you?". Buttering a slice of toast she remembered what one of his dorm mates had asked her this morning. "Why did one of the guys ask me where you were last night? They almost expected you to be with me." That comment had made her laugh. As much as her parents had tried to push her together with Scorpius it just wouldn't happen, she considered him a friend. Possibly a brother, but nothing else.

Scorpius nodded in response to Emmily's greeting. He was a little distracted this morning, his mind kept going over the wonderful night he had just spent with Rose. Her comment made him look up, his grey eyes cold. "I imagine it was because I didn't sleep there last night. Hardly their business where I did sleep, though." He managed to keep the chill out of his voice; it wasn't Emmily's fault, after all, that his dorm mates were nosy. Or that their parents had decided that he and Emmily would be a perfect match, the epitome of an ideal pureblood arranged marriage. "Don't worry about it," he said, giving Emmily a smile. "They won't bother you again with their stupid questions." Undoubtedly, being a prefect was a big advantage.

Cori sauntered into the Great Hall and took a seat across from Emmily and Scorpius. "Emmily. Malfoy," she said, giving them both a smile. "How did Hogsmeade go yesterday?" she asked both of them. Her trip had ended quite well, to be honest. "Umm, Malfoy, where were you last night? People keep asking," she said, shrugging her shoulders. She personally didn't care. the kid could do whatever, and whoever, he wanted.

He was just slightly distracted by something or someone. When he looked at her she shrugged her shoulders innocently she had no care where he did or didn't sleep it wasn't like she was going to write to his parents. "Fair enough as long as you slept a bit, because I know you when you haven't slept. It isn't pretty," she teased as she poured herself a drink. Hearing they wouldn't bother her again she smiled gratefully. "Thank you. That's all I ask." Cori sauntered into the Great Hall and took a seat across from Emmily and Scorpius. "Emmily. Emmily said happy to see the older girl considering she hadn't waited up last night. "It went alright. Very nice day even if it was boring at first." She looked at her and then smirked. "And how was your trip yesterday? Did you finally stop being bored?" When Cori asked the same question she'd been asked this morning, Emmily rolled her eyes and went back to her food. That question was probably going to be asked tons today. Gossip spread fast in Slytherin.

"Yeah, it ended well. I wasn't bored after we left you guys," she said with a wink. She sighed, twirling her hair around her fingers as she looked at the food she had to chose from for breakfast. She settled on piling her plate with sausages, eggs, and anything else with a lot of oil. She was lucky, no matter what she ate, she never put on an ounce.

As a Malfoy, he knew his actions were watched, and by more than just idle gossipers. "I just felt like a little privacy is all. If anyone else asks you, tell them to ask me in person!" That way, at least he'd know who it was that was taking an undue interest in his affairs. Obviously, his absence last night was all over Slytherin. Probably Rose's was all over Gryffindor, and once the two rumours met, people would start to put the pieces together. He didn't care on his behalf, but he was concerned that Rose would come in for a lot of unfair criticism. He glanced at the Gryffindor table again, and could see Rose talking to her younger cousin. So far, things looked pretty low-key. But then, her brother and boy cousins hadn't arrived yet. They were the ones likely to make a big deal of her dating a Malfoy.

She shrugged again. She had her own questions to answer for people. She sighed and went back to her food, stufing as much into her mouth as she could, without looking piggy.

Jessika sat herself down at the Slytherin table, reaching for some bacon and eggs. Everything was a little cool at this time of the morning, having been sitting there for hours. Giving her food a little reheat, she began demurely stuffing her face. She opened the Daily Prophet that was sitting on the table and glanced at the front page with a frown and a shrug. All this was ridiculous. Why couldn't people just live their own lives? She sighed and focussed on her food. She was hungry. Her eyes glanced back at the paper as she turned the pages. Nothing but death and destruction. So bloody stupid.

Jessika walked into the Great Hall, glaring at the people around her. She was sick of their whispers. Being who she was, and her name, she was just as bad as Malfoy. People tended to think she was of the other Lestranges, but her father was Rabastan. But, she had inherited his bad temper, according to some people. Slamming herself down onto a seat, she pulled a plate towards her and piled food on it, stuffing the fork in her mouth to stop herself from yelling at people to stop with the staring! Not like her hair was on fire. Was it?! Her hand flew to her hair and she sighed with relief, finding her long silky locks under fingers. Okay, so she hadn't burst into flames yet. Thjat was a good thing. So, she'd inherited her father's bad temper, and her mother's ability. Her mother was a Fire Elementalist, hence the worry she'd set her hair on fire. That happened sometimes. She was trying to get it under control. Just wasn't working very well. Looking around, she groaned. Did people not have anything else to look at anymore? Shouldn't they be gossiping about Scorpius and Rose Weasley's upcoming baby? Oohh the Scandal that had caused, but now people had stopped talking about it. She just wished people would start talking about it again, so she wasn't their centre of attention anymore.

Daemon glanced up as a wave of heat swept over him. He grinned when he saw it was Jessika. She looked pretty pissed off about something. " 'Sup Jess?" he asked, still grinning. "Think you can tone down the flames? The toast is already kinda scorched!" Plus, as a Ice Elementalist, he found the heat uncomfortable.
His eyes caught a movement on the other side of the table, and he rolled his eyes as he saw his cousin sitting down opposite him. In his opinion, Cassie was a total psycho.

Jessika looked up as someone spoke to her. When she saw Daemon, she relaxed slightly. "Yeah, yeah," she groaned. "How are you, Daemon? Just soooooo over people looking at me like that," she spat, looking pointedly at some older girls who were staring at her. "Take a picture it'll last longer," she growled at them, making them look away. "Is my hair on fire or something? I haven't pushed it too far have I?" She sighed, looking across the table as Cassie sat down. Okay, just continue talking to Daemon - best bet - didn't want to aggrevate the psycho now do we? "What have you been up to?" she asked, turning back to Daemon.

Daemon shrugged. "The usual. Not much I can get up to at school." He grinned. "Unless I take a page out of Malfoy's book - but if I got a girl pregnant, my mother wouldn't just disown me, she'd disembowel me on the spot!"
Mentioning his mother reminded him of the letter he'd got from her the day before. She'd been concerned about his aunt. Reluctant as he was to draw his cousin's attention - really, life was much quieter the less he had to do with her - he knew his mother would have something to say if she knew he was avoiding the girl.
"Cassie - how's your mum? My mother mentioned she's been in St Mungo's again." He spoke casually, hoping it wouldn't provoke one of Cassie's outbursts.

Cassie looked up, a hostile expression in her light blue eyes. "Perhaps your mother should learn to mind her own business. My mother's health is none of her concern," she replied, her voice deceptively soft. She finished shaking tabasco sauce onto her scrambled eggs, then opened the book she'd brought with her, finding her place before starting to shovel her breakfast into her mouth.
