Lily couldn't help it, she knew Miles disliked spiders ever since the prank she pulled last year. The spiders were meant to have gone in James' bed, but ended up in Miles'. "Yup it was," she giggled. "Sorry Miles," she added softly meaning it. She let him go in first and then muttered the lumos spell for her own wand. "Okay," she said taking his hand and stepping in carefully. "I don't think my duster's going to be big enough for this whole place," she said looking around. It was definitely dusty.

He glanced over his shoulder at Lily and sighed, "I know. It's alright." He swallowed as he felt Lily take his hand, Get a grip. Looking around he laughed, "No I don't think it will be." Keeping ahold of her hand claiming to himself it was for her own safety, he walked slowly through the hall, "This place is creepy though and kind of big."

Lily felt bad, she didn't want Miles being mad at her, so was happy when he said it was alright. She giggled and blew on a shelf that was near her, coughing as the dust flew into the air. "Way too much dust." The place gave her the creeps, no wonder it was still called the Shrieking Shack. As Miles continued to hold her hand, helping her through the hall she smiled to herself. It felt nice, like protection type thing. "Yeah I bet you could play hide and seek here and not get caught for hours, although I wouldn't like to play it at night," she said looking around.

Miles laughed as she blew dust off the shelf and started coughing with her, "Yea, I think I agree. How about you don't do that anymore..." he said in between coughing spurts. He turned and looked at her with a smile, "Now, that would be fun." With a grin at her he let go of her hand and walked around the room, "I wonder how many hiding places there are here." He turned and looked at Lily, "We could find out...It's not night...."

Lily nodded as she coughed. Blowing dust... not the best idea she'd had all day. She looked at him questioningly wondering what he meant. The loss of his hand left her feeling a bit sad but she smiled and watched him walk around the room. "I'm guessing quite a bit considering it's so big," she said truthfully. "What... you mean play hide and seek...now?" Her face lit up into a grin after a few moments of thought. "Fine but I want to hide first."

Miles laughed as he looked around, "You're probably right." He turned around and looked at her with a smile, "That's exactly what I mean." As she grinned his smile grew and he nodded, "Fantastic. Umm...rules....no leaving the house and no secret passageways back to the castle. Otherwise you'd just be cheating," he added with a smirk as he walked closer to her. "Sound good?"

Lily nodded in understanding. She thought that's what he'd meant. At the prospect of not being able to use the passageways she pouted. "It's not cheating if I know where it is and you don't," she explained. "It's just your fault you don't know the place." She stuck her tounge out at him as he walked closer to her and then nodded. "Okidokes. Count to 100 mister and no peeking."

Miles laughed and shook his head, "Isn't that the very definition of cheating?" Nodding he turned around and closed his eyes, "Alright ready? Better go hide...." He chuckled under his breath as he started counting from 1. And what's the goal here exactly? Not really knowing the answer he sighed and continued to count as he heard her footsteps die out.

"No," Lily replied sweetly, giggling. "That's the definition of bad luck on your part." She watched him turn around to face the wall and then started walking backwards before eventually running out the door and up the staircase. It was hard trying to be as quiet as possible when half the place was creaking and/or breaking. There were quite a few good places in there but eventually she opened teh door to what was once, probably, a bedroom. There was just enough space between the bed and the floor for her to crawl into and sat there waiting to see how long it took Miles.

Miles shook his head with a smile as she giggled and closed his eyes as he started to count. He could hear her moving thanks to the old creaky floor boards until they eventually stopped. Not bothering to finish the count he stepped away from the wall and looked around the dim room, "See now if this were Ivan and me he would probably leave me here and run off thinking it hilarious," he said to himself. He looked around the first floor searching as best as he could in the dark and with no luck headed upstairs the floor boards creaking horribly under his weight, "This can't be safe..." He tried to keep his eyes on the floor making sure not to step on a broken or rotted board as he searched. After going through a handful of rooms he opened the door to a bedroom and looked around the dark room. Taking a few steps in he stepped on a broken floor board which cracked under his weight causing his foot to fall through, "Son of a..." He tried pulling his leg out but only managed to get the sharp edge of the broken floorboard embedded in his leg. The pain was unbearable as he felt the sharp edge only go further into his leg as he tried to get it out. "LILY!!!!!!!" he cried out hoping beyond anything that she hadn't taken one of the secret routes back to the castle and was still in the house.

Lily sighed quietly to herself, trying not to feel the slightest bit frightened by the fact she was playing hide and go seek in a haunted house. "Let's just hope he doesn't leave me here," she whispered almost inaudibly. James would, Albus would consider it, but she was pretty sure Miles wouldn't. As she heard footsteps on the rickety fence she held her breath for a moment, wanting to see if he'd come straight to the room she was hiding in or look around a bit more. Thankfully, he had gone to another room. From where she was she had a good look at the closed door and when it opened, she was able to see that it was Miles who had walked in. She was also able to see the floor board crack under his weight and his leg fall through. "Miles!!" she screamed as she tried getting out from under the bed. She ended up banging her head on the frame as she managed to move her body out, but she was too concerned about Miles to care. Hurrying to his side she was able to see that moving around had caused the broken board to go further into his leg. "Are you okay?" she asked, before realising that what she had just said was probably the most idiotic thing she could've said. "What can I do?"

Miles looked around when he heard her scream his name only to see her getting out from under the bed so fast she banged her head on the frame. He tried to stay perfectly still as she came up to him and hearing her question rolled his eyes, "Do I look alright?" He looked around the room and then back at Lily. If he could get his wand he could break the board and pull his leg out but his wand was in his jeans pocket and he couldn't get to it without moving more. Turning toward Lily he nodded, "Give me your wand or break this board from the floor so I can get my leg out."

"No. Not really," Lily said cringing as she saw the state of his leg. She hadn't meant to ask the question, but it was the first thing she had thought of. At least he was remaining somewhat calm, she would've been screaming from the pain and from being scared. "Here." Pulling out her wand, she handed it to him, trusting him with it more than she trusted herself to break the board. She'd probably end up hurting him even more if she tried to help.
