The door opens to a cosy building, stuffed with tables and comfy chairs. A roaring fire is crackling in the grate and all around people are chattering and drinking. It is a loud place, but it is ideal for a rest. Pull up a chair, open a butterbeer and catch up with friends or simply relax.

Rose walked into the pub, rubbing her hands together to warm them up. Despite being constantly bubbly, with too much energy for her own good, she was always cold. She ordered a Butterbeer, then sat down at an empty table, waiting. Wondering whether or not Scorpius was indeed going to show up. Or if he'd bow to the pressure of their heritages. She sighed. Hopefully not! she thought as she took a swig of her Butterbeer.

Scorpius pushed open the door of the pub, and looked around. He was half-wondering if Rose would actually be there. If her family knew she was meeting him, they'd probably been trying to persuade her not to show. That was one advantage he had - no brothers, sisters or cousins watching his every move. He saw her, sitting at one of the tables, and walked over to her. "Hi Rose," he said quietly, smiling. Not the dazzling, calculated-to-charm smile he'd given her in the potions class, but a real smile. He ordered a butterbeer, before he sat down opposite Rose. "I'm glad you came," he said.

Rose jumped slightly, looking up as Scorpius said her name. She returned his smile happily. He came! Her day was suddenly brighter. She watched him sit in front of her, still smiling. "Of course I came. That wouldn't be very nice of me to ask you then not show up. I was worried you wouldn't come," she admitted.

Scorpius shrugged. "I thought your family might have tried to talk you out of it. Our families aren't exactly on the best of terms. If my father could see me, he'd... well, he wouldn't approve. And my grandfather..." Suddenly he laughed. "He lives in a world of his own, anyway. Still thinks he's better than everyone else. Poisonous old man!" He took a sip of his butterbeer. He didn't want to think about his parents or grandfather right now. "Are you shopping for something specific in Hogsmeade?" he asked, by way of changing the subject, and making conversation.

"They did. I don't much listen to them, to be honest." Rose listened as Scorpius spoke about his grandfather. he really seemed to hate the man. That was fine with her. To be honest, his grandfather scared the bejeesus out of her. After all she'd been told from her parents and Aunt Ginny and Uncle Harry. She shook her head when he asked her a question. "No. Not really. Just out for a stroll around. Something might catch my eye," she replied. "How about you?" she asked, taking a sip of her Butterbeer. It was surprisingly easy in his presence. She thought she'd be a bumbling mess. But she wasn't. That was encouraging.

Scorpius smiled when she said she hadn't listened to her family. He was sick of hearing about the feuds that existed between the wizarding families. It was ancient history as far as he was concerned. Then he shook his head when she asked if he was looking for anything. "No. Just a bit of a break from school. I get tired of everyone expecting me to act a certain way because of my name, or because I'm a Slytherin prefect. It's good just to wander around and not think about it all. Or about homework!" He grinned. He rarely worried about his school work anyway, he found most subjects easy. "Maybe we could walk down to the Shrieking Shack when we've finished our drinks." Not many people went there these days, no-one had heard a sound from it for years, and most people thought of the legends about it as just an amusing way to scare first years.

Rose smiled. "Fair enough. That would annoy the hell out of me Not being able to be what you want," she admitted, flicking an annoying stray lock of her strange coloured hair over her shoulder. "Ugh. Homework," she chuckled. She hated homework. With a passion. But it all seemed to come easy to her, even though she hated it so much! "Shrieking shack sounds good," she smiled, taking another sip of her drink. She was almost finished. She hadn't been to the Shrieking Shack in ages. It would be nice to go back. Especially if she was with Scorpius. She smiled as she finished off her drink, and sat casually back in her chair.

Scorpius finished his drink, and smiled at Rose. "Shall we go? This place is okay, but it's a bit too crowded for my liking." He stood up, and picked up Rose's cloak, so that he could help her put it on.

"Oh yes," Rose said, as Scorpius asked if they should go. She stood up, and raised an eyebrow as he picked up her cloak. She gave him a smile, and let him help put it on her. "Why thank you," she said with a smile, making her way over to the door, and out into the cold, putting her gloves back on, and her scarf, tightening her cloak around her.

Emmily needed a drink. It wasn't exactly freezing outside, but the wind made it nippy and that was what she hated about the weather. "Can I have a Butterbeer please?" she asked knowing the warm liquid would warm her from the inside out. As she was handed it she went and sat in a seat that was near the fire and slowly drank it, smirking at the memory of an arguement she'd overheard between the Potters and Weasley kids. They'd argue about anything.

Hogsmeade really wasn't her scene. But, she'd decided to give it a chance today. She saw Emmily, and walked over to her. "Hey," she said, plnking herself down gracefully onto the seat opposite from the younger girl. "Eurgh. I hate Hogsmeade," she muttered. |

Hearing a small voice cry out in protest, Emmily turned her head to see who'd gotten hurt now. She saw Cori and smirked to herself. You'd think after a month now that students would know to stay out of her way. She smiled as she walked over to her and sat opposite tucking her legs under her. "Hey. If you hate Hogsmede Cori why'd you come?" she asked. It was actually the first time that she'd seen Cori in Hogsmede for a long time.

Ivan walked into the Three Broomsticks to wait for Antony who was out doing who knows what. Walking up to the bar he thought about trying to pull off that he was older and order a Firewhiskey but decided he didn't want to argue with the lady. "I'll...I'll just have a butterbeer." As he took out his money he glanced at the occupants and saw what looked to be Cori sitting with Emmily. Smiling to himself he set the coins on the counter and grabbed the drink with an offhanded, "Thanks." He found a table across from them and sat down so he was able to see Cori. He set his drink on the table and looked up with a smirk trying to catch Cori's eye.

Antony entered the pub with a frown, d**n first years always in the way. After running back to the school to get his money he had nearly decked a group of first years who were standing in the middle of the path. He walked up to the bar and tossed some coins on the counter, "A butterbeer." As the lady handed it to him with a curious look which he managed to ignore he looked around and found Ivan sitting at a table looking extremely odd. Walking over to him he sat down across from him and sighed, "What in the hell are you doing?"
