A long table at the head of the hall facing the students. Home to the Teaching body at meal times.

As Lucius took his accustomed place in the ornately-carved chair that was reserved for the headmaster, he glanced along the table, and frowned slightly. Sara's place was empty. Though she was not, strictly speaking, a member of the teaching staff, she usually ate breakfast in the Great Hall. They rarely exchanged more than a polite greeting on these occasions, but it was pleasant to see her sitting there, eating, and muse on the time they had spent together the previous evening.
He shrugged slightly, and began to eat. No doubt she was tending to one of her animals. He had almost finished his meal when he saw her slip into her usual place. She looked very pale, he thought, frowning again. As he watched, the professor seated next to her offered her the scrambled eggs, and Sara pushed them away with a shudder. She picked up a piece of dry toast, and nibbled on it, taking occasional tiny sips of pumpkin juice.
Clearly Sara did not feel much like eating this morning, which was unusual for her. She looked as if the thought of anything more substantial than toast sickened her. Lucius put down his knife and fork, feeling his pulse quicken. If Sara was feeling sick in the morning, then perhaps it was the sign he'd been waiting for. It was some weeks since he'd started using the alternative spell on her, so enough time had passed for Sara to be feeling the first symptoms.

Sara slipped into her place at the table, hoping that she didn't look as ill as she felt. The professor next to her courteously offered her a dish of scrambled eggs, and Sara felt her stomach lurch. Shaking her head, with an apologetic smile, she pushed the platter away. It had been a mistake to come here for breakfast. But she couldn't just rush away without touching anything. Shakily, she reached for a piece of toast, and began to take tiny bites, finding she could get it down with the help of little sips of pumpkin juice.
She risked a glance at Lucius, and saw that he was looking at her intently. She blushed and looked down at her plate. She didn't want to have to face him yet. She might have been sheltered and protected, but she knew what morning sickness could signify. How would Lucius react if she really were...
She couldn't understand it, Lucius had conscientiously performed the contraceptive spell on her every time they made love. How could she be pregnant? But a thought struck her... perhaps the spell wasn't effective on Elementalists. She should have thought of that. She should have taken the potion as well. But she had assumed that she didn't need to, when Lucius was taking care of things.
It was no good, she couldn't stand sitting here, wondering, trying to force down food she didn't want. Abruptly she got up and walked quickly from the hall. She didn't know what Lucius would think, she just had to get out of her, get back to the safety of her little cabin.

Sara looked up and met his gaze for a moment, then suddenly got up and hurried out of the hall. A faint smile touched Lucius's lips. Clearly, Sara was upset about something. If she thought she was pregnant, then naturally she would be worried - about how he would react to the news. She thought he'd been performing a contraceptive spell, so to find herself with symptoms of pregnancy would certainly worry her.
Lucius finished his coffee, and rose from his chair. He wanted to know as soon as possible if his scheme had worked. Sara would, he was sure, have fled to that little hovel she called home. He left by the side-door, but took the hallway that lead towards the Entrance Hall. He smiled to himself, as he strode down the steps and headed to Sara's cottage. Now, if only it was a boy, everything would be perfect.
