Professor Desjardins is always ready to talk to her students. Just remember to knock first.

Nathalie yawned as she looked through a pile of essays. She really didn't feel like doing any marking today. She hadn't had much sleep that weekend. Zach had made it home as planned, and they'd ended up spending most of the weekend in bed. She looked down at her perfectly flat belly, wondering if their plan had worked. It was much too early to tell if she was pregnant. She'd leave it a couple of weeks, then perhaps pay a visit to Diagon Alley. The woman who ran the Apothecary shop was a former healer, and Nat had heard that she was very skilled at diagnosing pregnancy weeks earlier than most healers could. She smiled, allowing herself the luxury of a little daydream, in which she told Zach that they were going to be parents. She sighed, hoping that the fantasy would soon be coming true. Now that she and Zach had decided that they wanted to start a family, Nathalie found herself increasingly longing for a child. She yawned again, and resolutely pulled the pile of essays towards her.

Ceallach walked up to the door of Nathalie's office, a bottle of Irish Whiskey under her arm. She grinned, knocking on the door. Looking down at the bottle, she sighed. Irish Whiskey wasn't everyone's choice. Maybe she should have just got some Firewhiskey. But, this stuff went down a lot smoother than the wizarding variety. She shrugged and waited patiently to see if Nathalie was there.

Nathalie looked up when she heard the knock on the door. "Come in," she called, and smiled when Ceallach walked in. "Come and sit down, Ceal! You're just in time to save me from all these essays I've got to mark." She noticed the bottle in Ceallach's hand, and grimaced. At any other time, she'd have been delighted. But if there was even the slightest chance she was pregnant, she didn't want to take any risks. "I'll get you a glass," she said. "But - ummm - I'm going to pass. Just in case... you know..."

Ceallach smiled as she heard Nathalie's voice from the other side of the door. She pushed it open and smiled. "Oh! Well good thing that," she chuckled. She smiled as Nathalie spoke again. "Oh yeah, of course. I forgot," she admitted. Zach had been home this weekend. Of course Nathalie wouldn't want to drink! She smiled as Nat got her a glass and she sat down, and poured herself a glass. "So, you feeling anything?" she asked her. She knew that it would be too early yet, but hey! "Well, did you hear? Me and Aidan aren't together any more," she said, slowly, and deliberately, still slightly sore of how she found out. Not that she was particularly bothered that much anymore.

Nathalie laughed. "No - I don't even know if I'm pregnant, just not taking any chances. But if effort counts, then I should be expecting triplets at the very least," she added, with a sly grin.
She watched as Ceallach poured herself a drink. Her grin vanished at Ceallach's next words.
"Oh Ceal - no, I didn't hear. I'm so sorry." Here she was joking about the weekend she'd just spent with her man, and Ceal was in the midst of a breakup. "I know you haven't been happy about the way things were with Aidan. Did you just decide to call it quits? Or did something else happen?"

Ceallach smiled. "That's fair enough," she chuckled. At the joke, Ceallach laughed. "Well, well, well!"
At Nathalie's admission she hadn't heard, and the ask for details, Ceallach sighed. "Well, hearing you talking about getting pregnant and things, made me realise how much I wanted it, so I went home to surprise Aidan, hopefully reconcile a bit. Well, I - uh - I walked in on him and Angel - on my couch," she said, rather quickly, to get it all out. "So, that was the end of that!"

"Angel? You mean Angel Newell? Didn't they go out for a while at school?" Nathalie was surprised by the identity of the woman, but not, unfortunately, by the fact that Aidan had been fooling around. She knew both twins had been pretty wild in their teens, and Aidan had never quite outgrown it. Zach - so far as she knew - had never strayed, since they started going out at school.
"That must have been rough - in your own home," she said gently. "Are you okay?"

Ceallach sighed, shrugging her shoulders. "It was a shock, yes, but I suppose, it just cemented it. It was going to happen, we both knew it. I just wish he hadn't been so blatant about it," she replied. "Yeah, I'm fine. I - uh - I'm over it," she said. She wasn't really ready to tell about Erik yet. Not until she was sure she knew what was going on.

Nathalie nodded. She wasn't really convinced that Ceallach was completely "over it", but she didn't want to push her. "Well - you know you can always come and talk - even if I can't drink, I can still listen!"
She looked at the pile of essays on the table; the top one was Scorpius Malfoy's. She looked up at Ceallach, remembering something. "Is young Malfoy in trouble? I saw him going into your office the other day, looking pretty grim. That's not like him - despite the name, he's one of the more cooperative students, I find."

"Thanks Nat," Ceallach said with a smile. You could always count on Nathalie for a talk.
She heard Nathalie begin to ask about Scorpius Malfoy. Thankful for the change of subject, she shrugged. "Umm, I don't know if I'm supposed to tell you yet, but, all the teachers are going to have to know anyway," she began. SHe sighed. "He's not in trouble. Well, it depends on your interpretation of trouble. He- uh - you know he was going out with Rose Weasley, right?"

Nathalie frowned. "Yes - I'd heard rumours about it. Apparently her brother and cousins weren't happy about it. It struck me as a bit unexpected, but no reason they shouldn't go out. Don't tell me her parents are interfering... or his, for that matter! I know how those Malfoys think about blood purity!"

Ceallach shook her head. "No, no. Though, Mr Weasley, and Mr Malfoy definately tried. But, I don't think anything will be able to - uh - get between Rose and Scorpius at the moment. Umm - uh - Rose is pregnant, with Scorpius' baby. And Scorpius proposed. A Weasley and a Malfoiy. Who would've thought," she explained, shrugging her shoulders, a smile on her face. She really did feel happy for them, and sorry for them at the same time.

"Rose - is pregnant? I can't imagine that either set of parents took that well! Poor kids. Scorpius proposed?" Nathalie nodded. "Yes - I can believe that. He's always struck me as being, well, different from his father and grandfather. Which will make the baby legitimate, and therefore the next Malfoy heir..." With her intimate knowledge of the dynamics within pureblood families, Nathalie was stunned. Rose was a half-blood; not that Nathalie cared, but she was sure the Malfoys would! And surely, Rose's father and Scorpius's father had been deadly enemies while at school.

Ceallach sighed, chewing on her lip. "Umm. No, not exactly," she said, in response to their baby being legitimate. "Argh," she sighed. Everyone would find out anyway, and like Nathalie was going to go around blabbing! "Scorpius isn't exactly a Malfoy anymore," she muttered.
