This is where the Groundskeeper lives. A new Groundskeeper has just been appointed. Sara is the younger sister of Professor Desjardins. The hut is small and build of stone. It stands at the edge of the forest.

Sara stepped back from the pile of junk, and taking out her wand, set it alight. A bonfire was always fun. She needed to get rid of the really useless stuff she'd just chucked out of the Groundskeeper's hut that was her new home. Inside the hut, she'd already used magic to clean up the dust and grime on the walls and surfaces, and right now a scrubbing brush was working away on its own, giving the floorboards a good scrub. When it was done, and she'd moved back the furniture that she'd decided was good enough to keep, she could unpack her few possessions. Her first guest, she decided, would be her sister.

Sara sighed, as she looked across the grounds. She'd be glad when term started, and there were students and teachers around. Though she liked peace and quiet, ever since her parents had disowned her, she'd liked to know that there were people close at hand if she needed company. Especially Nathalie - but Nat was spending the holidays in the cosy little cottage she shared with Zach.
Of course, Sara had noticed the tension between her sister and Zach, she knew that the couple had been trying to have a child for a long time now, and the failure was putting a strain on them. Maybe, if they split, Nat would have more time for her sister again... Sara frowned, shocked at herself for wishing that. Of course she didn't want Nat to be unhappy. But Sara did miss the time they'd spent together, before Nat became so obsessed with having a baby.
Sara wandered over to the woodpile, and seated herself on a stump, gazing out at the Black Lake and the mountains beyond. She kicked off her shoes, and wriggled her bare toes in the layer of wood chips that covered the ground here. She sighed again, but this time she was smiling. Being outside, barefoot, just enjoying the scenery, was soothing her as usual. It wouldn't be long before the students arrived back at Hogwarts. Nathalie too... and just maybe her sister would finally have good news...

Nathalie made her way through the trees at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. She'd gone in there to see if she could find a Doxy for a DADA class with the second years. The only nest she'd found had been empty, so she had decided to give it up, and drop in on her sister on the way back to the school.
She'd enjoyed the evening she'd spent with Sara yesterday, and was feeling a bit guilty that maybe she'd neglected her little sister lately - what with teaching, and the shock of the new headmaster, and her preoccupation with starting a family, and the fact that Zach seemed to be getting stressed by the whole situation - she hadn't spent much time with Sara. So she wanted to make it up to her a bit.
She knew Sara got lonely - though she hadn't said anything about it, since term started. When Nat asked, Sara had laughed, and said she'd been finding ways to fill her evenings, but when Nat asked about these activities, Sara had just smiled mysteriously, and changed the subject.
Nathalie came out from between the trees, in sight of the little stone hut where her sister lived, then paused, frowning, and ducked back behind a tree. The headmaster of all people was striding towards the hut. Frankly this was the last place Nathalie would have expected to see him - it was far too primitive to appeal to a man who was accustomed to lavish manor houses!
Then Nathalie remembered that Sara had said something about one of those ridiculous white peacocks of Malfoy's being killed by the whomping willow; could Malfoy be checking up on the welfare of the remaining birds? Maybe giving Sara a hard time about the death of one of his status symbols?
Nathalie's face hardened. If Malfoy was bullying her baby sister, he'd have to answer to a very angry ex-auror!
Nat watched as Malfoy approached the door of the hut, and rapped on it with his walking stick. She was about to step forward, and let him know that Sara was not alone, when the door of the hut opened, and Sara came out - and stepped straight into Malfoy's embrace, her hands meeting at the back of his neck, as they kissed passionately.
Nathalie stood there, paralysed, cold with shock. There had been no hesitation from either Malfoy or Sara; this was obviously an established thing between them. The couple disappeared inside the hut, closing the door.
Well, this certainly answered the question of how Sara had been spending her evenings lately!

Sara and Lucius stood in the doorway of the hut; the door was half-open, meaning that anyone could see into the interior, but at the moment, they were both too busy with their farewell to pay much attention. At last they broke apart, and Sara smiled up at her lover. "Will I see you tonight?" she asked, trying to keep the anxious note out of her voice.
But the smile he gave her was reassuring, and he bent his head to touch her lips one last time, before turning and striding away towards the castle.
Sara stood in the doorway a little longer, watching him, and was about to go back inside, when she saw someone emerge from the trees near the forest. Who could be lurking near her cottage at this hour? Then she realized with a jolt that it was her sister. Judging by the expression on her face, Nathalie had watched her say goodbye to Lucius.
Well, this had been bound to come eventually. Sara turned from the door, leaving it open. She had no doubt that Nathalie would follow her. And equally certain that their conversation would be uncomfortable for both of them.

Nathalie approached the stone hut with a feeling of foreboding. She knew this would not be an easy conversation. She had thought that early morning would be best, before the students were up; she hadn't counted on Malfoy still being here, sure that he would disdain to sleep in such a primitive dwelling.
Nathalie hung back, amongst the trees at the edge of the forest, trying to avert her eyes from the nauseating sight of Malfoy pawing her little sister. Finally, the man strode away towards the school, and Nathalie stepped forward.
The look on Sara's face told Nathalie that she'd she'd been spotted. She started forward as Sara turned. But although she vanished into the hut, Sara left the door open, and Nathalie followed. As she stepped across the threshold, and saw Sara standing tensely by the table, Nathalie felt a sudden wave of sympathy. Poor Sara, so young, inexperienced, sheltered for so long by their parents. Malfoy was notorious for his taste for young, beautiful women; Sara wouldn't have stood a chance against him, if he was determined to have her.
"Sara," she said softly. "Sara, what on earth are you thinking?"
Sara watched as her sister walked in. To be honest, she was a little scared - she'd looked up to Nat as long as she could remember; she'd never been on the receiving end of a lecture from her, but she'd heard Nat with their three sisters, so she knew what Nat was like when she was upset with them. Finally, Nathalie spoke, and though Sara flushed, she kept her head held high, as she replied, "I don't know what you mean.
Nathalie shook her head. "You're involved with Lucius Malfoy! Oh Sara, even you must have heard what he's like with women. He uses them, then abandons them as soon as he gets bored..."
"He's not like that!" Sara snapped. "All you know is what his enemies say. I know who he really is - he's kind, and gentle with me..."
"Because he knows that's what you'll respond to," Nathalie retorted. "You can't possibly think this is anything more than a meaningless diversion to him."
Sara's face hardened. How could Nathalie think she'd give herself to a man like that. "That's not true! Lucius loves me as much as I love him!"
Nathalie was momentarily speechless. Even her baby sister couldn't be this naive, surely. "Love? Sara, are you insane? Lucius Malfoy loves no-one but himself! If he told you otherwise, then he's lying."
